Chapter 3 Five years of humiliation, she buried it with her own hands
Fu Group, top floor, CEO's office.
Fu Yechen sat in a leather swivel chair, his pen twirling between his slender fingers. From the floor-to-ceiling windows, the bustling Jiangcheng skyline unfolded before his eyes, yet his mind wandered.
Three days had passed.
Ever since Gu Qingzi left that night, he couldn't help but think of her.
This was strange.
Logically, freed from that restraint, he should have felt relieved. After all, for five years, he had never truly cared about that woman. Her presence was more like a background element, quiet, docile, and insignificant.
"President, the wife called," Assistant Li, the secretary, cautiously knocked on the door.
"Which wife?" Fu Yechen asked casually.
"Uh..." Assistant Li paused, "Miss Wen."
Fu Yechen then remembered that Gu Qingzi was no longer Mrs. Fu. "Put it in."
"Ye Chen, are you busy?" Wen Yaruo's sweet voice came over the phone. "I made you some soup. Do you want some..."
"I'll be right back." Fu Yechen checked the time. It was seven o'clock in the evening. "Wait for me at home."
After hanging up, he packed his things and prepared to leave. Passing by the secretary's desk, Assistant Li hesitated.
"Just tell me if you have anything to say."
"President, the ex-wife..." Assistant Li hesitated. "Butler Zhang said she hasn't been home for three days, not even with a change of clothes."
Fu Yechen's steps paused slightly.
"I understand."
He walked into the elevator expressionlessly, but an inexplicable emotion welled up in his heart.
She was truly gone.
Completely, decisively, without looking back.
Half an hour later, at the Fu family villa.
Wen Yaruo had changed into a casual silk dress and stood elegantly at the door, waiting. Seeing Fu Yechen's car pull into the yard, a gentle smile immediately spread across her face.
"Yechen, you're back." She took the initiative to greet him, standing on tiptoe to give him a kiss on the cheek.
This gesture was something Gu Qingzi hadn't done in five years.
"Is the soup ready?" Fu Yechen put his arm around her waist, and they walked into the house together.
"It's just right. I seasoned it especially to your liking." Wen Yaruo took his arm, her voice a little coquettish. "Yechen, I'm so happy to be able to live with you openly."
In the living room, Butler Zhang was directing the servants to pack up. Seeing Fu Yechen return, the old man's expression was a little complicated. "Master, we've already tidied up the Madam's room. Her things..." Jue
"Get rid of them all," Fu Yechen said nonchalantly. "There's no point in keeping them."
"Is that okay?" Wen Yaruo said with an understanding air. "After all, this is Miss Gu's five years of hard work. What if she comes back to get it?"
"She won't come back," Fu Yechen said firmly.
Butler Zhang hesitated to speak, but ultimately said nothing and went upstairs with the servants.
In the dining room, Wen Yaruo personally served the soup, her movements so graceful that it seemed like she was performing. She had her hair restyled today, and her makeup was even more elaborate than usual. "Yechen, try it." She pushed the bowl of soup toward him. "I learned this from a nutritionist. It's very good for your health."
Fu Yechen took a sip and frowned slightly. "It tastes a bit strange."
"Really?" Wen Yaruo's heart tightened, but she didn't show it on her face. "Maybe it's the new herbs. I'll be more careful next time."
"No problem." Fu Yechen didn't think much of it.
Wen Yaruo breathed a sigh of relief. The ingredients she added to the soup did make it taste a bit bitter, but it was necessary. Only in this way could her plan proceed smoothly.
"Yechen, I want to move here." Wen Yaruo raised her head, her eyes filled with anticipation. "We've been together for so long, but we've been apart so little. I want to see you every day."
Fu Yechen looked at her, his eyes filled with attachment and love. "Okay." He nodded. "Have someone move your things over tomorrow."
"Really?" Wen Yaruo stood up excitedly, spun around him and hugged his neck. "Yechen, I love you."
"Me too." Fu Yechen hugged her back.
A rustling sound came from upstairs; the servants were cleaning Gu Qingzi's room.
"By the way, where has Miss Gu been staying these days?" Wen Yaruo asked with feigned concern. "Is it unsafe for a girl to be out alone?"
"Don't worry about her," Fu Yechen's tone was a little cold.
Wen Yaruo was sensitive to the change in his tone, and a sense of unease welled up in her heart. Was he still thinking about that woman?
"I'm just worried. After all, she..."
"Yaruo," Fu Yechen interrupted her. "Don't mention her anymore."
"Okay, I understand." Wen Yaruo nodded obediently, but a hint of gloom flashed in her eyes. At ten o'clock that evening, Wen Yaruo returned to her apartment to pack her luggage.
She stood in front of the mirror, looking at her delicate face, a smug smile playing on her lips.
Finally, she had succeeded.
Five years of waiting, five years of patience, had finally paid off. That annoying woman was finally out of Fu Yechen's life, and she would become Mrs. Fu in the truest sense of the word.
She took out her phone and dialed a number. "Brother, I succeeded." Her voice was filled with suppressed excitement. "That foolish woman, Gu Qingzi, is truly gone."
"Well done." A man's voice came from the other end of the line. "Next, you know what to do."
"I know." A glint of venom flashed in Wen Yaruo's eyes. "It's time to settle the score from five years ago."
"Remember, don't be impatient. You'll let Fu Yechen walk into the abyss unknowingly, like boiling a frog in warm water."
"Don't worry, brother. I'll make them pay for what they did back then."
After hanging up, Wen Yaruo headed for the closet.
She opened the innermost drawer and pulled out a small bottle. It contained a colorless, odorless liquid that looked like ordinary mineral water.
This had been her secret weapon for the past five years.
Every time she made soup for Fu Yechen, she would add a few drops. This slow-acting poison wouldn't kill immediately, but it would gradually erode the body and exacerbate the symptoms of the Fu family's genetic disease. The best part is, even if it's discovered, it would be treated as a normal occurrence of a genetic disease.
"Fu Yechen, you'll never know that it was the woman you loved most who killed you." Wen Yaruo chuckled into the mirror, "And the woman who truly loved you has been pushed away by you herself."
Meanwhile, outside the city, at the Qingshan Villa,
Gu Qingzi sat in her master's courtyard, gazing at the starry sky. The mountain air was fresh, and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, her mood calmed considerably.
"Girl, are you still thinking about that unfaithful man?" The master came over, teapot in hand, and sat down beside her. "Master, I haven't." Gu Qingzi took the teacup. "I'm thinking, these five years of humiliation, I can finally bury them with my own hands."
The old man looked at her deeply. "You've grown up."
"Yes, I have." Gu Qingzi chuckled. "That silly girl from five years ago died three nights ago."
"So, what are you going to do now?"
Gu Qingzi put down the teacup, a gleam in her eyes. "Master, do you remember what you said back then?"
"What?" "
"You said that a doctor should be compassionate, but also dignified. Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda, but even for those who commit evil, we must teach them the truth of karma."
The old man smiled. "You want revenge?" Jue
"Not revenge." Gu Qingzi stood up and looked toward the dimly lit Jiangcheng in the distance. "It's about making them understand that some people are not to be bullied."
"Then do it." Master looked at her kindly. "Master supports you."
Gu Qingzi took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Mark, the plan begins."
"Roger that, Boss!"
"Remember, the first step is to make Fu Group's stock price drop ten points."
"Understood!" Jue
After hanging up, Gu Qingzi dialed another number. "Hello, Mommy!" a soft, childish voice came over the phone. "Xingci misses you!"
Gu Qingzi's voice instantly softened. "Mommy misses Xingci too. Are you getting used to life in London?"
"We're used to it! Xingci and Xingnuan are both very well behaved, but..." the little one's voice hesitated. "Mommy, do you really not want Daddy?"
"Xingci, Daddy doesn't want us anymore," Gu Qingzi's voice choked. "But Mommy will protect you."
"Then Xingci will protect Mommy too!" the little one said fiercely. "Xingci has already hacked into that villain's company system. With just one command from Mommy, Xingci will bankrupt them!"
Gu Qingzi couldn't help but smile. "My little darlings, Mommy can do it myself. Study hard in London. I'll pick you up once I'm done with things here."
"Okay, Mommy! Xingci loves you!"
"Mommy loves you too."
After hanging up, Gu Qingzi looked at the photo of the two children on the phone screen, her eyes filled with tenderness. Fu Yechen, you will never know what you've lost.
But soon, you'll understand that losing me is the biggest mistake of your life.
