Chapter 3 Two Celebrity Girlfriends

God always has a way of making you see the harshness of reality in a very crude way.

Just like Yang Shou, who woke up to find himself seemingly dead.

But how could he be dead?

Reflecting on his brief life, Yang Shou felt even more bewildered.

Born in an orphanage, he successfully attended school with the help of social welfare, and after graduation, he found a job at an ordinary company.

There was a boss who was annoying, a colleague who was always angry, and a few friends who both sabotaged and helped each other.

If he were dead, and this was the underworld, then everything he experienced would seem all too real.

"You must be on some prank show."

"You're using some kind of hallucinogenic drug to control me."

Yang Shou's mind was in a tizzy, but he found it hard to accept the current situation.

Ignoring the two beautiful women staring at each other and then looking aggrieved, he put on his clothes and left the room.

He needed some fresh air and some time to calm down. He'd barely taken a step out the door when he saw Aunt Wang again in the hallway. This time, she was walking ahead of him, about to press the elevator button. Yang Shou was debating whether to greet her when he suddenly saw Aunt Wang's teddy bear turn its head.

A real turn.

A 180-degree turn.

Its small black eyes stared at him darkly.

"What the hell?!" Yang Shou shuddered. He looked closer and saw that the teddy bear had returned to normal, tilting its head with a silly, adorable expression.

It must have been too much stress from the strange things he'd encountered these past two days, leading to hallucinations.

Yang Shou consoled himself. In the distance, Aunt Wang turned and saw him, waving a hand.

"Xiao Yang, hurry over! The elevator's almost here."

"Okay."

Yang Shou instinctively took a step forward, but when he met Aunt Wang's gaze, a tragic scene suddenly flashed before his eyes. It was a dark night. Aunt Wang was walking her dog when she was hit by an out-of-control truck. Both the person and the dog were utterly wrecked, tumbling into a roadside flowerbed.

The scene was fleeting, and soon, the peaceful hallway and Aunt Wang, smiling at him, remained before Yang Shou's eyes.

But the horrifying sight remained etched in his mind.

"Aunt Wang, please get down first. I remembered I forgot to bring something."

"You are so reckless, child."

The elevator door opened with a click, and Aunt Wang muttered as she walked in.

Yang Shou slowly retreated to his room, a cold sweat covering his back.

What he had just witnessed seemed to be Aunt Wang's death.

"Master, why didn't you wait for us?"

At that moment, Yang Mi and Reba had dressed and stood obediently.

Yang Shou gave a wry smile and waved without saying anything. "Come down with me."

"Also, don't call me Master. Call me... call me Brother Yang."

"Yes! Brother Yang!"

The two beauties smiled happily, seemingly delighted that Yang Shou had finally accepted them.

Yang Shou twitched his lips, unsure what expression to express.

After what had just happened, he vaguely realized that the world he now inhabited wasn't as normal as he'd assumed.

In other words, these two beauties were most likely paper figurines.

Never mind, paper figurines were paper figurines.

Logically, paper figurines were servants burned for the dead, absolutely loyal.

That shouldn't be wrong.

Taking them down would also give us some courage.

When the elevator opened again, Yang Shou confirmed that no one was inside. With a solemn expression, he led the two women in and pressed the button.

As the elevator descended, the narrow, enclosed space filled with the women's fragrance, becoming even more fragrant and alluring.

Delicate features, bright and lively eyes, a graceful figure radiating a faint warmth. No matter how you look at it, Yang Mi and Reba are real people, not just paper figures.

"Paper figures are afraid of water. We can try it tonight and see if they're afraid."

"Oh, what's going on?"

Yang Shou's head ached with thought, and he couldn't help rubbing his forehead.

The elevator opened, and the first-floor lobby was bright and sunny, just like any other day.

Yang Shou glanced around as he walked, feeling uneasy.

"Brother Yang, what are you looking at?"

Xiao Xie, the young security guard on duty in the lobby, greeted with a smile.

"Nothing," Yang Shou replied, sizing Xiao Xie up. "Has there been anything suspicious in our building lately?"

"Yes," Xiao Xie nodded seriously. Yang Shou's heart tightened, and he quickly asked, "What's suspicious?"

Xiao Xie couldn't help laughing, and said, "You're the most suspicious person in our building lately."

"Brother Yang, what are the names of those two beauties behind you?"

"One of them must be your girlfriend."

Yang Shou said angrily, "You dare to joke with your brother Yang, don't you? And, don't talk nonsense, neither of them is my girlfriend."

But Yang Mi and Reba said in unison, "No, we are all Brother Yang's girlfriends."

The charming and pleasant voice echoed in the hall.

The young security guard was stunned.

Yang Shou was also stunned. "You're even better at joking than I am." Xiao Xie, feeling a bit shy when talking to the two beauties, turned to Yang Shou and said, "Brother Yang, seriously, there's something wrong with you."

"Look at you, you're so pale, like you've seen a ghost."

Yang Shou glanced around, but didn't see Aunt Wang. He casually replied, "I really did see a ghost, Xiao Xie, you..."

His eyes blurred again, and a strange scene emerged.

One night, a thief appeared in the building. Xiao Xie, who was on duty, chased him. After finally catching up, he was stabbed eight times, each one fatal.

Xiao Xie collapsed to the ground, his eyes glassy, his chest heaving, and blood gushing from his mouth. "Brother Yang, why aren't you talking?"

Xiao Xie scratched his head and stood before Yang Shou, his smile tinged with the youthfulness of a twenty-year-old. "Did you sleep poorly last night and have a nightmare?"

"My family has an old recipe that's incredibly effective for soothing the mind and promoting rest. How about I give it to you?"

Yang Shou forced a stiff smile, said nothing, and walked blankly out of the hall.

"Brother Yang is really strange."

Xiao Xie scratched his head again, a little bewildered.

But noticing two beautiful women accompanying Yang Shou, his face flushed with envy.

Having one of these beauties as a girlfriend would be a blessing.

But Brother Yang has two.

Brother Yang is truly remarkable.

People were coming and going on the street, but not a single one was alive.

Yang Shou sat on a street bench, counting the names one by one:

"This one jumped from a building."

"This one hanged."

"Ha! This reward is too much! I'm rewarding myself to death."

"It's an eyesore."

"It's a shame looking in the mirror doesn't work, otherwise I'd really like to know how I died."

Yang Shou frowned.

He never dreamed he'd one day see how everyone died.

To be more precise, he'd be able to see how everyone died before.

This wasn't real reality!
