Chapter 3 Know the Current Situation and Don't Seek Death
Gu Sisi's pace was brisk, and the path downhill was steep. Gu Ming and Gu Bai had to hurry to catch up, but soon, Gu Ming was too hungry to walk.
He slumped to the ground. Gu Ming tried to pull him up, but instead of pulling him up, he ended up pulling himself down.
Gu Pan frantically cried, "Mom! Brother can't walk anymore! They can't walk anymore!"
Gu Sisi had already seen it, but she ignored it, continuing on her way calmly.
Gu Pan watched her two brothers drifting further and further away, tears streaming down her face. "Wow! I want my brother! I want my brother!"
Gu Ming and Gu Bai panicked as she gradually faded. Gu Bai cried, his voice tearful, "Brother, does Mom not want us anymore? Let's catch up!"
Gu Ming was indeed thinking this, and his heart was filled with despair.
Just as he was at a loss for what to do, a pair of feet suddenly appeared before his eyes. He looked up and saw it was Gu Sisi. qqxδnew.net
Gu Sisi looked down at Gu Ming, her voice cold and indifferent: "When living in this world, one must learn to judge the situation, understand?"
Seeing the two children's bewildered faces, she changed her tone: "There's nothing wrong with wanting to resist those who oppress you. But it's best to carefully consider your own abilities and see if they match your courage. Otherwise, you're simply courting death. Do you understand?"
She ripped the water bottle from her waist and handed it to him.
Although Gu Ming still had some resistance, he truly didn't want to stay here and wait for death. He gulped down his half-full drink, got up, and followed her on their way.
Halfway along, Gu Sisi suddenly heard the sound of fighting and quickly took shelter behind a col with the children. Looking up, she saw seven or eight men in black chasing a man.
Surrounded, the man fought hard, but his two fists were no match for his four hands. A hidden arrow struck his left arm, and he collapsed. This group of people were ruthless and merciless. If they turned their attention to her and the children, it would be a serious problem. Just as the men in black were about to strike, a silver snake whip slashed across, catching them off guard and strangling two of them in an instant.
"Who are you!" the man in black shouted angrily. "How dare you meddle in other people's business here!"
Gu Sisi whipped the whip, the tip of the whip carving a deep mark in the ground, and then flew towards them: "Go to hell and ask for your forgiveness."
Another person was killed by the whip.
The remaining men saw that she was a difficult person to deal with, and seeing that the man had been poisoned by an arrow, they knew that their life was in jeopardy and turned away.
Gu Sisi's mind moved, and the silver snake whip was retracted into space.
She walked slowly to the man and saw that the hidden arrow was stained with a deadly poison. The blood that flowed out had turned black. With a thought, she immediately pulled out the poison arrow and fed the man spiritual spring water.
All three children ran over. Gu Pan curiously poked the man's face and asked, "Mom, what's wrong with him?"
"Nothing," said Gu Sisi, squeezing out the poisonous blood and bandaging the wound. "Don't look, it's very dirty."
Gu Pan didn't listen. For some reason, despite the man's disheveled face and blood, she wasn't afraid, but rather wanted to be close to him.
Gu Ming and Gu Bai also looked at the man curiously.
Gu Sisi naturally didn't have the kindness to save a stranger. She simply saw that the man's unusual clothing made him look out of place in this remote village, and she thought saving him might benefit her.
Just as the wound was bandaged, Gu Sisi wiped the sweat from her forehead when suddenly, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in her head.
"Ten points have been credited. Please check."
Gu Sisi: "?"
Points?
So saving people can earn points? Or is this just one way to earn points? Earlier in the space, Gu Sisi had carefully studied the area. She could skip the clothing section for now. Opening the supermarket alone required thirty points. If saving one person earned ten points, didn't that mean she only needed to save three people to open the supermarket?
Gu Sisi's eyes lit up at the thought of the dazzling array of food in the supermarket.
Gu Sisi excitedly dragged the man to the shade behind the valley and waited for him to wake up.
Time ticked by, and after about half an hour, the unconscious man finally moved.
Yu Wenjin's last memory was the relentless pursuit and assassination. As soon as he opened his eyes and saw Gu Sisi, he immediately became alert: "Who are you?"
Gu Sisi said, "I was just passing by. I saw you unconscious, so I bandaged your wound."
She didn't mention the poison; after all, the "antidote" was beyond explanation. Yu Wenjin looked at her, then at the three identical children beside them, then at his own bandaged wound. "Really? Why would you be passing by in the middle of nowhere? And with three children!"
Gu Sisi's face darkened immediately. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing." Yu Wenjin stood up and looked her up and down. "I just think you're working too hard. Even when you're out here trying to make a living, you still don't forget to take care of your children."
He suddenly changed the subject. "Tell me, who sent you here, and what's your purpose in approaching me?"
She almost laughed out loud. She sneered, "You want me to get close to you? Bah! I saved you out of kindness, and you don't..." Chapter 3: Know the Present, Don't Seek Death [Page 3/3]
Not only are you repaying me, but you're also being so sarcastic. If I'd known, I wouldn't have been so kind. I've gotten myself into trouble for no reason. What bad luck!"
Yu Wenjin, always arrogant, had never heard such harsh words before. His face darkened. "How dare you make up a story..."
"So what if I'm talking about you?!"
Gu Sisi snorted coldly. "In my entire life, I've never met such an ungrateful person!"
The atmosphere was tense for a moment. A group of men in green suddenly rushed over from afar. "Young Master?!"
The leader, with an anxious expression, looked Yu Wenjin up and down, his gaze fixed on his left arm. "How are you? How are you injured?"
He then angrily apologized, "If I hadn't fallen for their decoy, how could I have let you get hurt!"
"What's the hurry?"
Yu Wenjin asked, his gaze still fixed on Gu Sisi. "Thank goodness this lady saved me, otherwise, I'm afraid I'd be dead."
He offered a half-smile. "I don't know where this lady lives. How about I take her back?"
He ultimately distrusted this woman who had appeared out of nowhere, and he wouldn't give up until he found out.
Gu Sisi, naturally aware of his intentions, snorted in annoyance, "No need."
He then called to the three children, "Let's go!"
But they were stopped. The man who stopped her smiled faintly, completely unthreatening. "If Madam doesn't let me escort you, I'm afraid I won't be able to return easily."
Gu Sisi instinctively wanted to reach for her silver snake whip, but she glanced at the three children, then at the sheer number of the other party. She restrained herself, a sinister smile playing on her lips. "Then I'll trouble you, young master."
Yu Wenjin: "No problem."
So they arrived at the entrance of Gujia Village.
Gu Sisi pointed to a house not far from the entrance. "I live there. It's such a short distance, young master, there's no need to escort me."
"Young master, those people are chasing us again. You're injured. How about..."
Just as he was about to move forward, a subordinate arrived with a report. He weighed the situation, assessed the person before him, and decided there was no point wasting time on a woman. He pulled a token from his waist and handed it over.
Gu Sisi gave him a cold look, but didn't move. Yu Wenjin said, "I'm not one to be ungrateful. Take it. If you ever find yourself in danger, just show it to me, and no one will bother you again."
Gu Sisi sneered, looking quite arrogant.
She didn't want to take it, but the token looked like it was made of pure silver. If it were minced, it could buy a lot of things.
So, she accepted it with a clear conscience, stuffed it into her arms, picked up Gu Pan, and said to Gu Ming and Gu Bai, "Let's go home."
